OTTAWA FRIENDS: Regretfully, Marina Marina and I are postponing our Ottawa show at Pressed until December (it was Oct 26th). We had some routing issues and needed to reschedule.

Sweet! Came across what looks to be a very nice review of my album on the Belgian music zine, Rootstime.be !

I say very nice because, ahem, my dutch isn’t much to speak of!

Google translator, on the other hand, seems to have a bit better handle on things: “Songs about sadness and hope on the album “More Than A Hero” with the songs “Cosmic Cowboy”, “Pretty Little Soldier” and “How The Tiger Lost Her Roar” as the most important exponents…the emotional “Lullaby”… makes a lot of good at the end of this fourth cd by Karyn Ellis. It is a beautiful and melancholic song where we too would be lulled asleep.”

What a delightful evening in Edmonton last night! Thanks so much to the wonderful Carrie Day & Marissa Kochanski for organizing the show and also Rob Heath who generously shared his home to host the soiree. Appreciations to the folks who came out to hear my songs as well! Glad to meet you and share the evening!

Some photos from the Musideum show last weekend. As intimate as a living room concert in the city! Thank you to everyone who came out to the show. It was a magical night and so lovely to share the evening with you!

Globe and Mail has given my show at the Musideum tomorrow night a Top-ten plug!

Brad Wheeler writes: “Karyn Ellis: The gracefully affecting singer-songwriter makes bluesy acoustic music, in celebration of her her latest album, More Than Hero.”

Well, sure. Even if you don’t have a ticket, you can show up at the MUSIDEUM this SATURDAY evening in Toronto and we will do our best to find you a place to sit. OR you can RESERVE your seat now, and not chance missing out on this fabulous soiree. Whichever way it is that you get yourself there – and if I may say so myself – it is going to be a fine evening. A rare Toronto appearance at a fascinating establishment (come early and you can check out the instruments; Musideum is a bonafide music store chock full of one-of-a-kind instruments from around the world.)

For your efforts of coming all the way downtown on a weekend night, I will play you songs, tell you stories, offer salve for the week’s bumps and bruises. Bring a friend and (if you like) you can hold hands during the mushy bits.

I am not usually one to be bossy, but right now I offer this advice: follow the link to reserve your tickets! As cozy as a house concert nestled in the neck of the city.
