Europe, that’s where!
A simple web poster I made for my upcoming tour of Europe. Tania Anderson took the photo of me back in July in one of Toronto’s beautiful, secluded parks.

I have been so busy in the studio these past few weeks, that I have been forgetting to update you on how the Jump In – Be a Backer! campaign is going.
Drum roll….
We are at Five-thousand, six-hundred and five dollars!!! Wooo hoooo!!!
…to say out loud? But I think the rough mix tracks sound AMAZING!!!!
Now I’m back home in the Cariboo, central BC, for a couple of weeks to listen and make notes on the songs. (Drove up today from Vancouver through a SNOW STORM in the mountains. For realsies!)
I head back to Toronto mid November en route to Europe to add the tweaks (ie shakers and more back up vocals) and record one more song before we start MIXING!!!
I can’t WAIT to share this album with you!!!! xo/k
PS, it is absolutely not too late to become a backer of the album!!! I pushed forward the cut off date for including your name in the liner notes, etc, until after the next round of studio dates. If you want to jump in to the project, now is a great time to do so!!! xo k.
I’m in Toronto staying with friends a few blocks away from the studio where – starting Monday morning – we will be spending the next couple of weeks finishing up the tracking for More Than A Hero.
And while I’m ensconced in the depths of the recording process, I thought it would be neat to introduce to you some of the people who are the creative sparks behind the making of the album…
Here is the first interview in a new series on my blog. Introducing… Justina Smith! CLICK HERE to read the interview. Meet this lovely visual artist from Edmonton Alberta. She is painting original artwork for the cover of the new album!
And now you know where some of your money is going! Three beautiful pieces of commissioned, original art. So…
Jump In! Be a Backer! And support this awesome independent endeavor! There is still plenty of time to get involved and to pre-order your early-release copy of the album.
Guess what? We made it past the three-thousand dollar mark! You guys are amazing!!! Keep it going, share the link…
When Chris Koppers contacted me through my facebook page a couple of weeks ago asking if I would do an interview for his music blogzine Crankbox, you bet I said yes! I love going to Europe!
“BC Rivers Day is a province-wide event, held every year on the last Sunday in September (Sept 23rd for 2012 in Prince George). Established in 1980 and coordinated by the Outdoor Recreation Council (ORC), it has been proclaimed by communities across BC and attracts over 75,000 people to more than 100 events each year.
The success of this event in BC has also recently led to the establishment of a “National Rivers Day” – and as part of the UN Water for Life Decade starting in 2005, a new “World Rivers Day” will be celebrated each September. This will use BC Rivers Day as a model and concurrent river-related events will take place in a number of different countries.”
