Ten Stories

© Karyn Ellis and Rob Szabo

There’s always a reason, isn’t there?
Love came down from the trees
For something so pleasing how is it
Love has such gravity?

Me on the street
You on the balcony
Ten stories up, and climbing
You’re rhyming off reasons without ever answering.

What once was so easy
At the start of it, you gave so willingly
But for the seasons
That weathered your heart, and took you from me

Me on the street
You on the balcony
Ten stories up, and climbing
You’re rhyming off reasons without ever answering.

Why do we need
Need it to be
So heavy?
You’re rhyming off reasons without ever answering.

Me on the street
You on the balcony
Ten stories up, and climbing
You’re rhyming off reasons without even answering.

Why do we need
Need it to be
So heavy?
You’re rhyming off reasons without ever answering.
