…my weekly blog posting day on my Letters To My Editor blog. Hurray! This week I have temporarily turned into a “music blog” and interviewed some fellow blogger challengees, who are wonderful musicians and human beings in their own right.

I spoke with Tom Shea, Sioux Newberry and Kimi Lyn Smith about their music and lives and stuff. I’m spreading out the posts over the week, so today we start with TOM SHEA!!! Woo!

Homemade Music Video Project (re)Commences!

Here is a project I have been wanting to do a while now! It started when I made my video for “Be My Girl” way back in March of 2010. My idea is to make homemade videos for every song on “Even Though The Sky Was Falling”, and even a few songs from “Hearts Fall” too! And when the new album is out… songs from that one too!

I don’t promise you professional mastery, just wee creative outputs for the sheer joy of making them.

And so, allow me to introduce number 2 in the Homemade Music Video Project: Little Grey Sparrow.

Results of the Survey!

A couple of weeks back, stuck on what to write for my elevator pitch for this blogging challenge that I’m doing, I put out the call for people to complete a 5-10 minute survey answering the question: How Would You Describe Me To Your Friends?

In the honour of statistic nerds and number lovers everywhere, I’ve posted the results here!

Not only did you give me a better idea of how you think I sound, you also left tons of positive comments, which simply swoons my heart. I have gathered those here and have entitled them “Fan Reviews”.

Doing some freshening up of the site here, as part of the blogging challenge I’m doing. (Called Music Success in Nine Weeks You can read my weeks 1 & 2 blog entries here (week 1) or here (week 2), if you’re curious. Week 3 entry is coming on Monday.)

Yes it’s GREAT to *finally* add some of the things that have been missing from this place for a loooooong time…

Like… for ages, people have been asking me what it would take for me to show up in their town to play a show. And so today I posted a page called How To Host a House Concert! Voila!

Website, website….I’m on a roll now. More updates coming!

PS, and of course, be sure to email me if you want me to come play! The whole point of this blogging challenge is to get us to the land of more music!

Tomorrow is the deadline to win “something homemade by me.” Wow. Who wouldn’t want that? All you need to do is take five to ten minutes to fill out a four question survey (+ one bonus question!) designed to help me write a short “elevator pitch” for my Music Success in Nine Weeks blogging challenge.

That makes today a good day to weigh in on my survey! You have until Saturday January 20th 1pm PST to get your name in the draw.

By the way, the response so far has been awesome! I have been sneaking quick peeks here and there to see which answers are trending, as well as reading a few of the comments and recommendations people have left me. How would you describe me to your friends?

It’s week 2 of “Music Success in Nine Weeks”: This week’s task? Create an “elevator pitch” that entices someone to check out my music if they haven’t heard it before.

Here’s what I’ve decided to do to get this week’s challenge done. Rather than write what I think I sound like, I thought it would be interesting to put it out to you! What do YOU think I sound like? By that I mean, if you were going to tell a friend to check out my music, how would YOU describe it?

To figure this out, I’ve created a short survey (Four questions plus one bonus question and a couple of feedback questions for the draw.) It would be amazing if you could take 5 to 10 minutes to fill it out for me.
